The National Industrial and Mining Company (SNIM) reached a record level of sales in 2022, with 13.34 million tons of iron ore shipped to global markets.

The SNIM has decided to award new bonuses to workers, who managed to surpass the record figure of 13.27 dating back to 2016 for his achievement. Noted that 78% of the company's capital is owned by the Mauritanian State. The company did not succeed in reaching production of 13.5 million tons during the year, but achieved an increase in general activity of 5%, compared to 2021, according to the director of production of SNIM, Mohamed Ould Mohamed Abdallah.

For him, due to numerous factors, including the epidemiological situation in China and the war in Ukraine, experts predict a difficult year 2023 for iron ore exporting companies, with the continuous fall in prices and the increase in the cost of consumables.
