The Senegalese management and intermediation company (SGI) Finance Gestion et Intermediation (FGI) carried out the inaugural live trade with Dyer & Blair Investment Bank, a securities broker at the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE). It was within the framework of the launch of the digital platform of the African Stock Exchange Interconnection Project (AELP Link).

AELP Link is a project born from a joint initiative of the African Securities Exchanges Association (Asea) and the Banque africaine de développement ( Bad). This project aims to facilitate cross-border transactions between African stock exchanges, through a platform called AELP Link. This platform is intended to connect the different markets and will allow investors to trade (buy and sell securities) on a portfolio of more than 1000 listed securities.

According to a press release, the FGI is one of the first five UEMOA SGIs selected to join the African stock market interconnection project. Thanks to the AELP Link, the press release explains, the FGI can now satisfy any demand for securities on the markets of the seven connected exchanges.
