Issued for the last time on the WAMU regional market on behalf of the year 2020, the paper 'Benin' was acclaimed this Thursday at 360% by investors from most of the country.

On an initial request of 20 billion FCFA, the State of Benin through the Public Treasury, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, has indeed mobilized nearly 72 billion FCFA on the regional market of WAMU, and withheld the sum of 22 billion. The country had issued Assimilable Treasury Bonds (OAT) with initial maturities of 5 years at rates of 6%, and 7 years with 6.4% interest.

On arrival, investors from Benin represent 40.8% of the amount retained. They are followed by those of Burkina Faso and Togo with respectively  24.5% and 20.45% of the 22 billion FCFA.

"On the next coupon payment date of October 9, 2021, all subscribers will receive a full coupon regardless of the time of acquisition of the securities," reads the terms and conditions of the transaction. On this basis, says the same source, subscribers to this second tranche will have to pay in addition to the price, a coupon rate of 0.690411% for the first OAT and 0.736438% for the second OAT, which allows them to be entitled to a full coupon on October 9, 2021.

"The repayment of the capital will take place on the first working day following the due date. The payment of interest will be made annually on the basis of the interest rate set and this, from the end of the first year, "says the State of Benin.

This operation is the last in the country on the regional market for the year 2020, according to the schedule of emissions.
