At the opening of the first edition of the Week National fight against cybercrime (SNLC) which takes place from 27 to 31 October 2025, the Minister of Security, the Divisional Commissioner of Police, Mahamadou Sana, urged young Burkinabe people to use digital technology as a lever for innovation, rather than an instrument of nuisance.

During his speech, the Minister of Security Mahamoudou Sana recalled that the Internet and information technologies and communication offer immense opportunities for education, the trade, governance and social cohesion. According to him, these same tools, when diverted from their purpose, become weapons dangerous in the hands of cybercriminals without borders.

“Data Thefts, Online Scams, Spoof identity, dissemination of false information, breaches of privacy or still massive hacks of computer systems are all threats that undermine social peace, economic security and sovereignty digital technology in our country,” he lamented.
