In the vision of an effective fight against fraud Tax and Customs, the Tax Administration and the Directorate-General for Gabon Customs signed a memorandum of understanding on November 7, 2025 in Owendo aimed at strengthening coordination between the two institutions.

The common goal of key management players General of Customs and Indirect Duties (DGDDI) and of the General Directorate Tax Administration (DGI) is to strengthen cooperation between the two administrations, in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministerial Work Plan. En Indeed, the strategic meeting held on 7 November last is under the theme “for greater effectiveness of joint controls and a better fiscal and customs management”. It aimed to optimize synergy. actions between the two entities, in particular in the fight against fraud, irregularities and tax evasion. This initiative is part of a logic of transparency, efficiency and increased revenue mobilization public, aimed at strengthening trust and complementarity between tax and customs administrations.

Several key points were addressed during different exchanges. It is about improving the exchange of data between the two directions; harmonization of methods and better coordination actions; the establishment of a clear and shared regulatory framework; the development of a common data model and operational procedures defining the roles, schedules, and required tools.

This partnership includes:

-Real-time sharing of data on imports, tax returns, and trade movements;

-The establishment of common cells for the analysis of risks, responsible for identifying suspicious behavior;

-and joint control actions on the field, especially in transit areas and logistics centers.
