On Thursday, October 23, 2025, the regional service of the Guiriko National Police incinerated more than 15 tons of prohibited products worth one billion CFA francs in Bobo-Dioulasso.

Prohibited products were seized during the control and patrol operations carried out in 2024 and 2025 at Bobo-Dioulasso. These products are essentially composed of drugs, drugs, adulterated drinks and cigarettes. The overall cost of these products is estimated at nearly one billion CFA francs. This large-scale operation aims to protect the health of populations and to fight economic crime and cross-border linked to smuggling. According to the director's representative Regional Police of Guiriko, the Chief Police Commissioner Aboubakari Siribié, provincial director of the Houet police, the action of the Police rely on clear legislation in the fight against fraud and products unfit for consumption. For him, “these products are forbidden and dangerous for health. It is necessary to act quickly, and that is what we are doing today. In total, about 15 tons were cremated”.
