Find all the economic and financial information on our Orishas Direct application to download on Play StoreThe National Directorate of Treasury and Public Accounting of Mali raised on December 23, 2020 on the financial market of the West African Monetary Union (UMOA) an amount of 33 billion FCFA (49.500 million euros) at the end of its simultaneous auction issuance of 364-day equivalent treasury bills (BAT) and 36-month equivalent treasury bonds (OAT).
The funds raised are intended to cover the financing needs of the State of Mali's budget.
Out of a total amount put up for auction of 30 billion FCFA, the Agence UMOA-Titres, organizer of the operation, listed 65.154 billion FCFA in total bids from investors. This gives a rate of coverage of the amount auctioned by bids of 217.18%.
Of the amount of the bids, the Malian public treasury withheld 33 billion FCFA and rejected the remaining 32.154 billion, ie an absorption rate of 50.65%.
Reimbursement of BAT issued will be made on the first business day following the due date set at December 22, 2021 and interest payable in advance and deducted from the nominal value of the warrants.
As for the bonds, their repayment is also scheduled on the first business day following the maturity date set for November 12, 2023. On the other hand, the payment of interest will be made at an interest rate of 6.10% per year from the end of the first year.
