On Monday, December 14, 2020, Radisson Blu provided the framework for the work of the 6th annual review of the political reforms, programs and community projects of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). Held by videoconference between the member states, the conference was chaired by the secretary general of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Sousourou Dembélé, with at his side, Mamadou Moustapha Barro, resident representative of Uemoa in Mali.

This annual review, said Moustapha Barro, is part of the implementation of the decision of the heads of state and government of UEMOA to deepen regional integration in order to achieve, in the long term, to the harmonious economic, social and human development of the Member States. It took place in three stages. Said session of the day, said Moustapha Barro, is technical. During this session, Barro said, we are invited to assess the state of transposition and implementation of 117 reforms and 10 community projects. This is an opportunity, Barro believes, to identify the nature of the difficulties affecting the transposition and implementation of community reforms, policies, programs and projects in Mali. These reforms and projects submitted to this evaluation exercise, adds Moustapha Barro, were followed up during the year by the Department of Economy and Finance in conjunction with the members of the technical committee of monitoring of community reforms and technical service focal points. Moustapha Barro hailed Mali, which took 2nd place in 2019 in the implementation of reforms with a rate of 82% against 77 in 2018. -assessment of the transposition and implementation of the community reforms that we had carried out internally, sustained efforts were noted in the implementation of the texts already transposed into national legislation. These results, according to Moustapha Barro, are proof of Mali's attachment to the values and principles of regional integration. And the progress made by Mali in sensitive areas of regional integration, particularly in the area of freedom of movement of persons and the right of establishment of liberal professions.

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Sousourou Dembélé , was delighted with the second place occupied by Mali in the implementation of reforms with a rate of 82% against 77% in 2018. that this result will be improved in 2020, despite the impact of the political and health crises which have not made it possible to give the necessary impetus to the transposition and implementation of community texts ", declared Sousourou Dembélé. He showed his satisfaction following the efforts made in the areas of freedom of movement of people and their goods in the Uemoa space, the right of establishment, the liberal professions. The assessment of Mali's level of commitment within the space is one of the challenges of this meeting.
