Atlantic Business International (ABI), a subsidiary of the Moroccan Group "Banque Centrale Populaire" (BCP), intends to support the State and Nigerien companies in their development efforts, said the CEO of this African holding company, Habib Koné.

Koné made the remarks after a meeting with Nigerien Prime Minister Brigi Rafini in Niamey on Thursday.

"This hearing was an opportunity to examine the prospects of the Nigerien economy, the role that our bank plays and the support we provide for the benefit of the State, companies and our customers in this country," stressed Mr. Koné. It is also a question of projecting oneself into the future to glimpse what "we can bring as added value in order to promote activities, promote banking and help Nigerien companies to develop", he added.

The ABI holding company, the backbone of Banque Atlantique, is firmly established in the top three financial groups in the WAEMU (West African Economic and Monetary Union) area.

Last November, Banque Atlantique changed its graphic charter in Niger, as part of the transformation project led by the BCP Group within ABI and its 16 subsidiaries in 10 countries of the sub-region.

Thus, Banque Atlantique has strengthened its image through the implementation of the "horse" emblem in Niger in order to reflect the DNA of the BCP Group like the subsidiaries of Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau and Senegal, which preceded it in this structuring process.

It should be noted that Banque Atlantique is the 3rd largest banking group in the WAEMU zone in terms of market share. It is present in the eight countries of this space: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.

Banque Atlantique also relies on specialized subsidiaries, such as Banque d'Affaires "Atlantique Finance", asset management "Atlantic Asset Management", "Atlantique Assurance vie" and "Atlantique Assurance P&C" insurance in Côte d'Ivoire and Togo.

The group also has an investment bank to which the Banque populaire maroco-guinéenne and the Banque populaire maroco-centrafricaine are operationally linked.

It should also be noted that Banque Atlantique Côte d'Ivoire (BACI) and the Youth Employment Agency signed, Wednesday in Abidjan, a framework partnership agreement aimed at strengthening the empowerment of young Ivorians.

This signature is part of the implementation of the 2nd edition of the operation "Agir pour les jeunes", a program initiated by the Ivorian government to finance projects led by young people, we learn Thursday from the BACI.

The agreement concerns the creation of a fund for a total amount of 3.7 billion CFA francs, or more than 5.6 million euros, by the Youth Employment Agency to finance youth projects, via microfinance, said the BACI in a statement.
