Brent futures won 56 cents, up 0.8%, to $66.95 per barrel at 8:35am GMT, while American West Texas Intermediate crude rose by 56% cents, or 0.9%, to $63.19 per barrel.

Prices had already closed up by 0.6% during the previous session, after Israel announced that it had struck the Hamas leadership in Doha.

The two benchmarks jumped by a lot by 2% in the wake of the attack, before erasing a large part of these gains.

American stocks of Crude oil, gasoline and distillates rose last week, according to market sources quoting American Petroleum Institute figures published Tuesday. Official government data is expected at 14:30 GMT
