L' Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (Oif) organized a mission of economic exploration in North Africa, Egypt and Morocco, and a regional workshop on banking transactions and international trade finance in Africa. Started on February 6, 2023, the mission will end on February 9.

The mission takes place in two stages. It will take place in Cairo, Egypt, from February 6 to 7, 2023, then in Morocco, in Casablanca, Morocco, from February 8 to 9, 2023. It is led by the Administrator of OIF, Geoffroi Montpetit, on behalf of the Secretary General of La Francophonie. A press release from the OIF announced that “thanks to a tailor-made program (economic forums, business meetings, company visits and networking evenings), more than 100 local companies and around 50 companies and economic actors from twenty French-speaking countries will explore new markets and develop North-South, South-South and tripartite business contacts in three sectors: agro-industries, energy renewable and digital goods and services, in Egypt and Morocco, two of the most industrialized countries on the African continent in 2022 according to the Banque africaine de développement (BAD)”.

According to the same document, this workshop will make it possible to mobilize French and international public and private actors to find solutions to the difficulties encountered by companies wishing to expand internationally: prohibitive prices and long delays processing costs for their financial transactions, as well as high costs for financing their international growth.
