The Ghanaian government assures that the will begin to stabilize by next week. Measures have been implemented to stabilize the rapidly depreciating currency.

According to the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Finance, Charles Adu Boahen, the CEDI will start to stabilize because, the government “has taken steps to ensure that we can re ; address some of the real concerns about making more hard currency available to importers.” He also mentioned that the government has reached an agreement with mining and gas companies to sell their currencies to the Bank of Ghana in order to stabilize the CEDI.

In addition, a recent ranking of currency performance by Bloomberg ranked the CEDI as the world's worst-performing currency after the Sri Lankan rupee. Bloomberg has tracked the performance of 150 currencies worldwide and CEDI has ranked second to last in terms of performance since the start of the year.
