Find all the economic and financial information on our Orishas Direct application to download on Play StoreAs part of its cooperation with the Government of Niger, the African Development Bank organized, from December 1 to 3, a virtual workshop on Institutional Capacity Building and Fiduciary Clinic (RICF).
This workshop, coordinated by the African Development Institute (ECAD), was organized in collaboration with the Bank's Niger office and several key departments concerned with the themes (acquisitions, disbursements, financial management, anti-corruption, quality assurance). It aimed to strengthen the project management capacities of the various stakeholders, in this case the staff of the project implementation cells (FFS) in order to increase the performance of the country portfolio and improve the effectiveness of development in Niger.
About fifty people took part in this webinar, including senior government officials, leaders of the public procurement regulatory authority, project supervisors in the relevant line ministries, project coordinators and procurement officers, financial management, disbursements and monitoring and evaluation of FFS.
ECAD's Chief Capacity Building Coordinator, Ann Sow Dao, who was the overall coordinator of the workshop, presented the concept of the fiduciary clinic and its history, as well as the objectives and practical details of the workshop. She said that the ricf organization was intended to be preventive and participatory in order to maximize the impact of development in Niger. According to Ann Sow Dao, the African Development Institute intends to contribute to the creation of a framework for dialogue between stakeholders in portfolio management through the mastery of the Bank's rules, procedures, norms, standards and principles.
The head of the Bank's Niger office, Nouridine Kane-Dia, welcomed the participants and the Bank team, indicating the importance of the workshop to achieve the expected results more quickly. Oumarou Ousmane, Director of Investment Monitoring and Evaluation at the Nigerien Ministry in charge of Planning, thanked the Bank for the initiative, highlighting the good cooperation between the Bank and Niger, before proceeding to the official opening of the workshop.
At the end of the three days, participants expressed their satisfaction and made recommendations with regard to the difficulties resolved and those identified during the workshop.
The workshop ended with a speech of thanks by Habibatou Ibrahim, Head of the African Development Bank Cooperation Department in the Investment Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Planning of Niger.
