The International Monetary Fund (IMF) approves a 305 million dollar aid package for Burkina Faso. The objective of the funding is to “strengthen resilience to shocks and reduce poverty” in the country.

The IMF announced in a press release that it has approved an aid program that will be approved by the institution's board of directors in the coming weeks. The reforms planned under the programme include improving the efficiency of public companies in the energy sector, better mobilization of fiscal resources, and the implementation of social measures financed by improving growth.

They should also make it possible to create the conditions for controlling public expenditure and to have the funds necessary to deal with the risks of a food crisis.
