29 private vocational training projects in Niger will receive funding to develop their activities, in fact, the funding will be granted under the Skills Development Project for Growth (PRODEC), which is under the supervision of the Ministry of Vocational and Technical Education whose mission is to combat youth unemployment in Niger.
A package of 277 million CFA francs (438,000 USD) will be made available to increase training in areas with high employment and growth potential. Thus, the deputy coordinator of PRODEC, Bako Yahaya, announced that “PRODEC supports structures operating in promising sectors that provide jobs, in particular agro-industry, construction, leather and leather trades, hotels and restaurants”.
In reality, 16 private vocational training structures were selected last year to receive funding from PRODEC, a project financed by Niger and the World Bank. It should be noted that the project has already made it possible to train and integrate 31,345 young people through employment or entrepreneurship.
