The 6th edition of the WAEMU Banking & SME Fair (SBPME-UEMOA) took place from 5 to 8 November 2020 in Cotonou, Benin.

The theme chosen for this edition of the Salon des banques et PME de l'espace UEMOA, which took place in the framework of the Benin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was: "Intra-community trade and competitiveness of SMEs in the WAEMU in a context of security and health crises". The sponsor of this edition, N'gueto Tiraïna Yambaye, Director General of the Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund (FAGACE) urged, at the opening of this fair, on Thursday, November 5, the participants to reflect on helping SMEs in a global context of COVID 19: "Since its launch, this fair has become a platform to promote SMEs but also the spirit of entrepreneurship. This show is therefore of undeniable interest and it will be necessary to integrate the COVID 19 pandemic and help SMEs to develop resilience factors. The underperformance due to COVID 19 must make it possible to find solutions through reflections". On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Benin, Vice-President Casimir Migan congratulated the Permanent Secretary General of this fair, Hermann Nagalo for the holding of its 6th edition in Benin, especially since , according to him, "it is an ideal framework to exchange and inspire solutions likely to be the best for a successful integration of SMEs into the economy". The award ceremony for SMEs of the Economic and Monetary Union of West African States (WAEMU) was attended by the representative of the Minister of State for Planning and Development, Abdoulaye Bio Tchané and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) doctor Dr Zul-Kifl Salami during the booth tour held on Saturday, November 7, 2020.

For the year 2020, the Jury of the 6th edition of the WAEMU Banking and SME Fair, after examining the proposal of the organizing committee, awarded the title of Chevalier des PME Tiémoko Marc Garango to Mrs. Reckya Madougou, founder of the Think & Do tank, Team RM, for a structural transformation of Africa.
