Senegal: CFAF 38.339 billion raised on the WAEMU financial market

On Friday, July 15, 2022, the Senegalese State raised FCFA 38.339 billion on the WAEMU financial market at the end of an issue of 3, 5 and 7-year Treasury stimulus bonds (ORD).

The amount of successful bids is 38.339 billion FCFA and the amount rejected is 52.125 billion FCFA. This gives an absorption rate of 42.38%. Investors whose bids were accepted will find themselves with a weighted average yield of 5.08% for 3-year bonds, 5.47% for 5-year bonds and 5.84% for 7-year bonds. In addition, the securities issued will be redeemed on the first business day following the maturity date set at July 18, 2025 for 3-year bonds, July 18, 2027 for 5-year bonds and July 18, 2029 for 7-year bonds. It should be noted that interest will be paid from the end of the first year at a fixed rate of 5.10% for 3-year bonds, 5.35% for 5-year bonds and 5.65% for 7-year bonds.
