Moody's Rating Agency has maintained Senegal's rating at ''Ba3'' and raised the outlook from ''negative'' to ''stable''. This improvement took place on Friday, March 18, 2022, following Senegal's last sovereign rating review mission. The ministry indicates that in view of the uncertain context characterized “by health risks and growing geopolitical risks at the global level, this positive change in perspective reflects the resilience of the Senegalese economy.

Economic growth should reach 10% in 2023, driven by hydrocarbon production, with the start of operation in 2023 of two major gas and oil projects, Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) and Sangomar''. Senegal also aims to ''develop the Yaakar-Téranga gas project to support its +gas-to-power+ strategy''. This project should allow the production of more reliable and less expensive electricity and reduced dependence on hydrocarbon imports.
