A budget of 200 billion CFA francs intended for companies in difficulty in the face of the coronavirus pandemic was announced this Sunday by the Minister of Economy, Planning and Cooperation, Amadou Hott. Invited to the program Le Jury du Dimanche on Iradio and iTv, the latter maintains that this support is intended to enable companies to be able to cope with the losses due to Covid-19 and the restrictive measures introduced in order to stop the virus.

Company with 33% drop in turnover

The Minister of Economy, Planning and Cooperation specifies that the funds will be distributed among the various banks present in Senegal to ensure assistance and distribution to the beneficiary companies. “These are all the companies whose turnover has fallen by at least 33%. The companies which will have more loss of their turnover….. will be eligible” continues Amadou Hott. Comparisons of turnover will be made to define the companies eligible for this financial support. "We have targeted monthly credits to cover the incompressible charges including salary, rent, etc." continues the minister.
