The last Council of Ministers discussed the Project for the biometric identification of natural persons in Togo. This project aims to assign a Unique Identification Number to all natural persons present on the national territory.

Chaired by the Togolese Head of State Faure Gnassingbé, the council held an initial seminar on the progress of the project, in order to allow members of the government to assess the implications in terms of mobilizing stakeholders. Carried out in partnership with the World Bank, the project will ultimately make it possible to set up, in particular, the Single Social Register, Universal Health Coverage and any other social service such as "Novissi" if necessary.
