The 8 countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) will benefit from a fund from the West African Development Bank (BOAD) for digital transformation in the public service, announces a press release from the financial institution.

This fund will finance projects to digitize administrative processes and promote the digital economy within the WAEMU, the document says.

According to GSMA figures, in 2018, West Africa had 185 million mobile subscribers, an increase of nearly 10 million compared to 2017.
