The services of the Central Bank indicates that the increase in the general price level is printed by the Food component with a contribution of 1.4 percentage points to total inflation, in connection with the increase in food prices induced by the fall in cereal production of the previous season and the disruption of distribution channels caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition, the Transportation component contributed 0.2 percentage points to total inflation at the end of June 2020. This development is due in particular to the increase in the price of road passenger transport services, particularly in Côte d'Ivoire where an increase of 11.9% was recorded.
