Abidjan- The Minister of Women, Family and Children, Bakayoko-Ly Ramata, on Thursday urged the country team of the "50 million women have the floor" project, to make Côte d'Ivoire an example in promoting female entrepreneurship.

The "50 Million Women Have a Voice" project is a joint initiative of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) that will serve as a platform for interconnection between African women entrepreneurs for acc& eacute;lerer their fulfillment. This through the sharing of knowledge and skills in order to improve their ability to access financial and non-financial information.

The Ivorian team designated for the implementation of this project consists of 14 members from the public, private and civil society sectors. It was installed by the minister who urged members to give the best in order to position Côte d'Ivoire on the issue of female entrepreneurship at the level african.

The team will be responsible for designing an action plan according to the three axes of the project, namely feeding the platform's database, communicating and raising awareness of the use of it, mobilizing women entrepreneurs through mentoring for their registration and the exploitation of data, said the minister.

"I express the wish that this platform, by its richness of its content, be a real tool at the service of the development of all women in our dear and beautiful country, Côte d'Ivoire", meant Bakayoko-Ly Ramata.

"50 million women have a voice" is a 3-year AfDB-funded project in partnership with the Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the East African Community (EAC). It is implemented in 39 countries on the African continent.
