Nokia Solutions and Networks Nigeria, the local subsidiary of Finnish technology company Nokia, signed a partnership agreement with the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) earlier this week. The company is thus committed to training young Nigerians in the latest radio and 4G/5G transmission technologies

Training on 4G and 5G will take place in the NCC digital parks. Nokia will also set up an entrepreneur apprenticeship program where it will provide high-quality vocational training to 200 Nigerian students selected from the country's six geopolitical areas

According to Aminu Maida, Director General of NCC, this collaboration is part of the government's vision to strengthen the capabilities and competencies of Nigerians, equipping them with the contemporary skills and knowledge needed to adapt to the rapidly changing telecommunications industry. In October 2023, the executive launched a program called “3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT)” from the federal government, which aims to train 3 million Nigerians in technical skills in three years
