The Ministry of Malians Living Abroad and African Integration is organizing the first edition of the International Diaspora Forum in Mali from 17 to 19 July 2025 in Mali. This event is under the high presidency of Army General Assimi Goïta, President of the Transition and Head of

State.

The first edition of the International Diaspora Forum will be held under the theme: “Issues and challenges for a diaspora at the heart of national economic development”. It is intended to be a strategic platform for mobilizing and stimulating the role of the diaspora in the economic development of the country. According to Minister Mossa Ag Attaher, who initiated the forum, this meeting aims to build a lasting bridge between Mali and its community abroad, by promoting its economic, cultural, scientific and entrepreneurial potential. It also aims to strengthen economic, cultural and strategic ties between our country and its diaspora. According to the minister, “this event, beyond the deserved tribute it pays to our compatriots living abroad, is dedicated to the Malian economic community abroad. It aims to strengthen economic, cultural and strategic ties between our country and its diaspora. The meeting space between diaspora entrepreneurs and local businesses that I plan to create will make it possible to realize the tremendous economic potential that our diaspora represents.” The forum aims to raise awareness among the diaspora about investment opportunities in Mali, to inform them about existing mechanisms, promising sectors and the incentives put in place by the State to facilitate productive investments. It is also about encouraging the return of skills and talents, especially in key areas that contribute to inclusive and sustainable growth.
