As of March 31, 2023, a sum of approximately 7.4 billion CFA francs (approximately 12.2 million US dollars) was mobilized under the Patriotic Support Fund (FSP), with the aim of strengthening the fight against terrorism. This was informed by the Burkinabe Minister for the Economy, Finance and Foresight, Aboubacar Nacanabo on Monday, April 3.

During the inaugural session of the Steering Council of the Patriotic Support Fund, the Burkinabe Minister of Economy, Finance and Foresight indicated that the sum mobilized in two months consisted of voluntary contributions from natural and legal persons, technical and financial partners, donations and legacies, as well as other authorized legal resources & including employees. The session was set up in January 2023 by the Burkinabe authorities. Nacanabo called on the populations to continue contributing to strengthen this fund, estimated at 100 billion CFA francs, whose objective was to support and accompany the action of Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP, army deputies) in the fight against terrorism.
