Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde indicated after giving the DRC's position on the issues raised during the African Climate Summit that “the Democratic Republic of Congo calls for access to fair conditions and is African countries are eligible for financing to help them promote green growth and develop renewable energies on a continental scale.” The latter indicated that the DRC is calling for the reduction of the economic debts that African countries had contrasted during the global crisis of the Covid-19 pandemic

Prime Minister Sama, for his part, pleaded for solidarity on projects of common interest in the renewable energy sector. According to the latter, the aim is to chart a new path for climate action in Africa and the world, by promoting renewable energies, for which the black continent has immense potential
