The European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, said that her country has witnessed Ghana's remarkable commitment to sustainable forest management and the fight against illegal logging. According to him, “the dedication of the government and the forest sector, in cooperation with European partners, has made it possible to bring the FLEGT authorization within our reach. This success highlights the power of international cooperation in fighting critical global problems such as deforestation and illegal logging

Pour sa part, le ministre des terres et des ressources naturelles du Ghana, Samuel A. Jinapor, a indiqué que “le Ghana a connu des améliorations significatives en matière de gouvernance forestière avec la mise en œuvre et l' opérationnalisation du système d' assurance Of the legality of wood. The impending issuance of FLEGT authorizations for the EU market and of authorizations for other international destinations will be guided by the same legality standards.” Ghana has undertaken major legislative reforms in its forest sector that strengthen forest governance and enable the country to comply with the terms of the VPA and ensure transparency
