The anti-money laundering body Gafi placed Kenya and Namibia on the “enhanced surveillance” grey list on Friday. The United Arab Emirates were removed from it on their side.

The FATF announced at a press conference that Kenya and Namibia suffer from “deficiencies” in their anti-money laundering policies and have agreed on action plans to address these shortcomings.”

As for the United Arab Emirates, they have taken “substantial steps to improve security systems in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing” according to the FATF. Also, three other countries are removed from the grey list (Barbados, Gibraltar and Uganda).
