Mardi dernier, le Government of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has dismissed the president of the state-owned oil giant Petrobras, Jean Paul Prates.

The dismissal of the president of Petrobras came after a dispute between the company and the executive over the payment of dividends. A presidential spokesman said that “Prates has been fired.” Petrobras said in a statement that Prates had requested a meeting of the board of directors to discuss “the early end of his term (...) in a negotiated manner” and to present his resignation.
