From the first of June next year, banks, insurance companies, court offices, notaries and others, understood as consignees of funds and other assets, understood as consignees of funds and other securities, must transfer the funds and assets to the accounts of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDEC

).

The transfer of funds and assets in CDCE accounts will be carried out in accordance with the decree signed on December 1 by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, on December 1, 2015, setting the procedures for the transfer of funds and other values vested in the CDCE. The International Bank for Trade and Savings of Cameroon announced in a statement that “the balances of checking accounts and savings accounts that have not recorded transactions for more than twelve months will be declared, while the balances of checking accounts that have observed a period of inactivity of more than six years and more than eight concerning savings account balances will simply be transferred.”

Thus, the bank especially invites anyone who has an account, mandatary or entitled person, and who has not registered any transaction for at least twelve months, to come to the counters no later than 30 May 2024, i.e. next Thursday.
