Since yesterday, Tuesday, May 28, 2024, the Court of Justice of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) has been organizing a seminar to raise awareness and popularize community law and justice for the benefit of Togolese judicial actors

The Union wants to provide seminar participants with general knowledge on the institutional and legal framework of UEMOA, the powers of the Court, as well as the procedure applicable before her. At the end of this training, participants will be able to interpret and apply the Treaty establishing the Union. The adoption of the Treaty establishing UEMOA gave rise to Community law of the Union, the implementation of which is the responsibility of its bodies, the national courts of the Member States and its Court

The training seminar also provides an opportunity to raise participants' awareness of the mechanism of preliminary proceedings, as well as the role of national courts in the application of Community law, and to inform them about how to access Community legal and judicial information.
