On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, a virtual workshop opened to validate six diagnostic reports of the multi-country project on the governance of natural resource outflows for better economic resilience in fragile and transition countries (Gonat).

The Gonat project aims to strengthen national capacities to manage natural resource outflows, by covering issues related to resource-secured lending and the illicit trade in natural resources, in order to strengthen domestic resource mobilization, debt sustainability and overall economic resilience in selected African countries in transition. It will enable the countries concerned to strengthen national capacities in the management and trade of natural resources. These countries are the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Central African Republic, Chad, Mozambique, Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe. This project will promote the improvement and mobilization of domestic resources, debt sustainability and economic resilience in these countries.
