An Annual Meeting was held in Bissau as a strategic framework to strengthen regional integration and promote economic development within the West African Economic and Monetary Union ( UEMOA). It was an opportunity for members to examine the budgetary management adopted on 30 June 2024 as well as the situation of contributions, two essential elements for the proper functioning of the CCR- UEMOA

La réunion of Bissau marks an important step in achieving the ambitious goals of the 2024-2027 term of office. The participants in this meeting reviewed and validated the recommendations of the Technical Commissions, with a clear objective which is to ensure the proper functioning and effectiveness of the institution. The discussions covered several crucial points, in particular the status of progress of the Action Plan for the year 2024. Members explored the feasibility of setting up a financing mechanism and a regional structural fund for the community private sector, aimed at supporting economic initiatives in the region. The implementation of the Action Plan of the Regional Strategy for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) was also at the center of the debates. This plan represents a crucial challenge for regional economic integration, and its implementation is essential to strengthen trade ties within the African continent.
