Bénin Terminal, a subsidiary of AGL (Africa Global Logistics) has equipped its 4 dock gantries with Spreader Control Unit (S.C.U) technology. This modern crane spreader system, acquired thanks to an investment of 500,000 euros (around 320 million FCFA), makes it possible to facilitate the movement of containers and to optimize productivity on dock gantries.

These new acquisitions, promote the rapid diagnosis of remote failures on Benin Terminal facilities, significantly increase the speed of ship operations and improve the overall productivity of the terminal.

“After the Port of Abidjan, the Port of Cotonou is the second port platform to deploy this technology, making Bénin Terminal one of the port terminals that are at the forefront of this technology. Through this system, the company innovates by the ease it gives to maintenance, data analysis and remote monitoring of breakdowns. ”, explained Torbjorn FRIDLUND, an engineer from Bromma, who was sent to deploy and train the teams

Note that the container terminal at the Port of Cotonou has become a growing regional logistics hub for Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso and Nigeria thanks to an investment of 142 billion CFA francs made in 2023.
