The African Development Bank (bad ) a célébré son soixantième anniversaire dans l' enceinte de la Tour Zital, qui abrite le siège de la représentation de la BAD . On the occasion, Madagascar and the bank showed their respective desire to strengthen their relationships.

During a colorful ceremony, the Minister of Economy and Finance Rindra Hasimbelo Rabarinirinarison indicated in the speech that “the government of Madagascar is determined to make this cooperation even stronger”. According to him, “this cooperation is proving to be an effective tool to reduce poverty in the member countries of BAD , including the Big Island”.

De son côté, Adam Amoumoun, the resident representative of the bad in Madagascar reported on the positive track record of cooperation. According to the latter, “the current mid-term results are satisfactory both in terms of resources mobilized and in terms of the number of achievements on the ground”. Madagascar, which has joined the BAD , since 3 May 1978, currently has a portfolio of 87 active projects for a total financing of 7,446,012,859 dollars, including budget support and 86 investment projects. Cooperation concerns a dozen sectors of activity, namely agriculture, budget aid, budget aid, water and sanitation, energy, environment, finance, governance, infrastructure, social as well as multisectoral projects.
