The Secretary of State for Senegalese Abroad, Amadou Chérif Diouf announced that the Senegalese government plans to set up an online bank, with the contribution of the National Bank for Economic Development ( BAND).

A neo-bank also called “mobile banking” is a bank whose services are accessible mainly online. These institutions are fully digital financial institutions available only via a mobile application. According to Amadou Chérif Diouf, the neo-bank that the government is preparing to create will be launched with the BNDE license for its operations in West Africa. According to him, it will allow Senegalese from outside to deploy and to domicile their salary in this bank. In addition, the new bank should allow the Senegalese government to “be able to easily capture the funds of Senegalese from outside and go beyond 2,000 billion CFA francs in money transfers from the Senegalese diaspora”. Its ambition is to eventually provide other services necessary for the well-being of Senegalese abroad to make them proud of their country
