Rwanda and Guinea signed 12 memoranda of understanding in Kigali on Wednesday 9 October in Kigali, where a meeting of the Joint Standing Committee was held to strengthen bilateral cooperation, to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The agreements cover cooperation in various areas such as tourism, administrative reform and the modernization of public administration, diplomacy, and the economy.

A cooperation agreement has been signed between the Guinean Export Promotion Agency (AGUIPEX) and the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).

Another notable agreement was signed between RDB and the Agency for Special Economic Zones of Guinea (ADAZZ).

Chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier Nduhungirehe, and his Guinean counterpart, Morissanda Kouyate, the meeting of the Joint Permanent Commission focused on opportunities for exchanges and mutual development.

According to Minister Nduhungirehe, the Joint Permanent Commission will be an excellent platform for strengthening dialogue and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

He emphasized that interactions between experts and delegations will help identify projects that will enhance synergies between the two countries in the long term.

“The partnership between our two countries is based on complementarity and a win-win approach. For example, Rwanda has everything to gain from Guinean expertise, especially in the mining sector, while Guinea can benefit from Rwandan experience in innovating and digitizing public services,” said Mr. Nduhungirehe

.

He added that Rwanda and Guinea share a vision of South-South cooperation, based on the principles of mutual respect and empowerment.

Minister Kouyaté highlighted the strong multi-sectoral relationships, friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
