African Trade and Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), part of the World Bank Group's guarantee platform, have signed a three-year partnership to accelerate foreign direct investment in Africa. This is the second agreement between the two organizations aimed at optimizing their impact on development.

A press release reports that the collaboration between the two organizations will rely on ATIDI's expertise in insurance products and guarantees on the African continent as well as the expertise and guarantees offered by MIGA through the World Bank Group guarantee platform. The partnership will also aim to improve efficiency in the due diligence of joint projects, thereby maximizing economies of scale and eliminating duplication

The CEO of Atidi notes that “facilitating more investments to finance transformational projects is critical to Africa's sustainable development. For Manuel Moses, the risk mitigation solutions proposed by Atidi and Miga are essential to achieve this crucial objective

For his part, Hiroshi Matano confides that their partnership with Atidi will allow them to support African countries to develop and replicate development projects, thus accelerating prosperity. The executive vice president of MIGA notes that this agreement will play an important role in helping the continent attract more foreign investment in key development projects
