The energy company Soleos Energy and Melci Holdings announced the development of a 200 MW solar photovoltaic project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The solar power plant will be located in the village of Fipango, on the territory of Kipushi, in the province of Haut-Katanga. Valued at $200 million, this project is expected to produce approximately 350 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 300 000 tons per year. Dhaval Jiyani, CEO of Soleos Energy says he is thrilled to be collaborating with Melci Holdings on this transformative project, which will provide much-needed renewable energy infrastructure in the DRC.
