The occasion allowed for the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Ericsson managers in order to promote the development of Nigeria's digital economy
.La collaboration entre le Nigeria et Ericsson aims to establish a collaboration in the development, deployment and innovation of 5G technology in Nigeria. According to the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, a member of the delegation, Bosun Tijani, “with this memorandum of understanding, we can continue to ensure the spread of 5G across the country, not only in key locations, and that is how we can ensure that we see the growth we want to see in our economy.” This partnership includes the creation of innovation hubs and technology incubators in Nigeria, as well as the improvement of digital literacy and skills development in the country. It also includes the exchange of know-how and the strengthening of skills in the ICT sector. This memorandum of understanding will allow Nigeria to benefit from part of the 11 billion dollars that 5G could generate in Africa by 2030 according to the GSMA
.Il faut noter que 5G technology offers new opportunities, in particular for the development of immersive technological solutions and the Internet of Things.
