Dans l' intention de mobiliser des capitaux for affordable housing projects across Africa, Shelter Afrique Development Bank (SHAfDB) and the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) have signed a memorandum of understanding.

The agreement signed between ShafDB and the BRVM establishes a framework for collaboration between the two organizations to address the growing housing deficit in Africa, currently estimated at over 53 million units. They will focus on mobilizing financial resources through innovative instruments such as green, social and sustainable development bonds (GSSS), as well as real estate investment funds (REITs).

Their areas of collaboration include: Bond issuance, sustainable bonds, capital mobilization through REITs and Technical and Advisory Services. According to Thierno-Habib Hann, CEO of Shelter Africa style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style”, "serif" >, “this partnership with BRVM is an important step for Shelter Afrique Development Bank. With the housing deficit in Africa now exceeding 53 million units, we need to rapidly intensify our efforts. This memorandum of understanding offers us the opportunity to mobilize the capital needed to finance affordable and sustainable housing projects across the continent.”
