.The grant agreement signed by the Deputy Director General Financing & Investments of the West African Development Bank, Ourèye Sakho Eklo, and Henry Gonzales, Deputy Executive Director of the Fund, will make it possible to finance the LOCAL Plus Regional Program, in West Africa, for Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Mali and Niger. The objective is to facilitate the access of local authorities and the private sector in these countries to climate action finance, through technical support, budget support and capacity building. This program is worth a total of EUR 52.82 million (35 billion FCFA). Its implementation is planned for 5 years. At the signing, the Deputy CEO reiterated the Bank's commitment to continue and strengthen its leadership position in the sub-region in terms of climate action

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a global fund created to support the efforts of developing countries to respond to the challenge of climate change. The GCF helps developing countries limit or reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adapt to climate change. It aims to promote a paradigm shift towards low-emission and climate-resilient development, taking into account the needs of countries that are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
