An agreement has been signed between International Finance Corporation (Ifc), an institution of the World Bank Group and insurance companies operating in Côte d'Ivoire. La signature d' accord entre Ifc and insurance companies mark a major breakthrough in the framework of Ifc's inclusive climate insurance program, co-financed by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. According to the Ifc regional representative, Josiane Kwenda, Ivorian agriculture, a key sector of the economy that employs nearly 43.5% of the active population, is increasingly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, leading to a decrease in agricultural production.
