Following an operation carried out in Thiès and then in Dakar, the Groupement multipurpose de Recherches et de Répression de la Fraud (GPR) of the Senegalese Customs seized black notes worth 905,000,000 CFA francs with six individuals apprehended.

An attempt to put black banknotes into circulation in the city of Thiès was thwarted on Friday, November 11, 2022, by GPR agents. They were able to infiltrate the network of counterfeiters thanks to intelligence. In fact, the criminals were four in number on board a KIA SORENTO vehicle and went to the location indicated by the “buying” agent to whom they presented blocks of black bills. The GPR agents in turn present to arrest the occupants of the vehicle.
