According to Massano, at the moment, the sale of dollars to commercial banks, through the oil companies, is only done on tripartite agreements, that is to say the agreements by which the oil companies identify their suppliers, he explained to the participants. at the conference "Angola: Oil and Gas 2019" opened on Tuesday by the Angolan President, João Lourenço.
"What we want to do is more than that. We want to get to a point where oil companies, also for other needs, and not necessarily through tripartite agreements, can sell currency directly to commercial banks," he pointed out.
According to the Governor, the BNA is working with the Associations of Petroleum Operators for the definition of a timetable, given that some situations had arisen in the organization of the market in terms of acquisition of the dollar, and this also exercised , in a way, a pressure on the fixing of the exchange rate.
By returning these transactions to commercial banks, the Central Bank wants to certify whether these operations are carried out in a framework of stability and contribute to the development of the country, he finally added.
