The city of Marrakech, in Morocco, hosted the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (Bid) from Thursday April 4 to Saturday April 6. Benin, a privileged partner of this banking institution, was represented by a delegation headed by the Minister of State in charge of Planning and Development, Abdoulaye Bio Tchané. These meetings were marked by a strong act of cooperation between Benin and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (Badéa). On April 5, Abdoulaye Bio Tchané signed a loan agreement with Badéa for forty million US dollars, equivalent to twenty-two billion CFA francs. This agreement relates to the financing of the support project for the National University of Agriculture and the National University of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. An opportunity for Abdoulaye Bio Tchané to express the thanks of the Government and the people of Benin to the Badéa for the confidence that it continues to renew in Benin. This loan agreement, it should be emphasized, responds to the ambitions of the Government to support the Una by means that can strengthen the capacities of learners, achieve better production in agricultural sectors, and support the development of science and technology in Benign. It should also be recalled that the Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank aimed to present the new projects carried out in Morocco, particularly in terms of renewable energy and infrastructure.
