On Saturday, March 28, 2026, an awareness workshop for members of parliament belonging to the African Parliamentarians’ Network on Illicit Financial Flows (APNIFFT), Chad section, was opened at the Palace of Democracy.

For two days, lawmakers focused on strengthening their skills in dealing with the complex mechanisms of money laundering and terrorist financing. The opening ceremony was chaired by the First Vice-President of the National Assembly, Dr. Houdeingar David, surrounded by members of the institution's bureau. In front of an audience comprising representatives of the Anti-Money Laundering Group in Central Africa (GABAC), the Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), as well as civil society experts, Dr. Epainete Djangang Sendé, 5th Vice-President of the National Assembly and President of the Chadian section of APNIFFT, emphasized the urgency of resolute parliamentary action.

The work of this workshop, held on March 28 and 29, aims to decipher the mechanisms of financial crime, analyze existing legal instruments, and formulate recommendations adapted to the national context.
The president of the APNIFFT-Chad section particularly emphasized the Sahelian security context, recalling that these financial flows "too often serve as nourishment for terrorism, threatening the peace and stability of our nation."
