At the 13th edition of the Global Islamic Finance Summit, Macky Sall was recognized by the London-based firm Cambridge IFA and the African Institute of Islamic Finance. He thus obtained the Global Leadership Award in Islamic Finance.

Macky Sall chaired the opening ceremony of the 13th edition of the Global Islamic Finance Summit in the presence of representatives from several financial institutions. Companies practicing Islamic finance have been rewarded for the results obtained during this year. As for the Head of State, according to the promoters, the Global Leadership Award for Islamic Finance rewards, along with the personal efforts of the Head of State in this field, Senegal's pioneering role in the development of this finance in Africa.

According to the two organizations, “celebrating excellence and innovation in Islamic finance is the ambition of the firm Cambridge IFA, based in London and in close collaboration with the African Institute of Islamic Finance”.
