At the final conference on the second phase of the global strategy on improving agricultural and rural statistics (GSARS II), which took place on Tuesday 11 June 2024 in Abidjan, the resident representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Côte d'Ivoire welcomed the achievements of this program.

The resident representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Côte d'Ivoire, Attaher Maiga said that after three years of implementation, the GSARS II has, in line with the first phase, made undeniable achievements in the capacity building in agricultural and rural statistics in Africa. According to the latter, “the results obtained demonstrate that the 27 African countries involved in this phase have received technical support in several areas, covering the process of planning and implementing statistical activities in the agricultural sector”.
